Giant Paris Catfish Reminds The Public To Wear Their Face Masks

paris-catfish

Paris, Tenn.–Even the giant Catfish that greets visitors to Paris is now sporting a face mask–and a giant face mask it is. The catfish is located at the intersection of Tyson and Mineral Wells Avenues and has greeted everyone for years. City of Paris officials are asking the public to follow the lead of the catfish and remember to wear their face masks and practice social distancing. City Manager Kim Foster said the gesture was suggested by community members who thought it would be a light-hearted way to remind the public to wear their face masks. The huge face mask is made of old sheets, she said. “We all need something light-hearted right now while we’re all going through this,” Foster said. “And this is a good way to remind everyone to think about our health care workers, our police department personnel and the others who are on the front lines.” (City of Paris photo).
