Waverly, Tenn.–A man who had been wanted for rape and sexual activity with animals is now in custody at the Humphreys County Jail.
Gary Wayne King, age 56, of McEwen, had been sought for several days after he fled when deputies showed up to arrest him.
After long hours of surveillance and help from the public, King was arrested this afternoon.
According to the press release, members of the Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit, along with Patrol Deputies were able to locate and arrest King without incident.
Sheriff Chris Davis said King was booked in about 2 pm today and was processed for Rape Charges, and Sexual Activity with Animals and will remain in custody under a $125,000 dollar bond. Sheriff Davis said several other charges are pending on King as this case goes forward to the Grand Jury.
“Sheriff Davis is very grateful for the hard work that all deputies put forth during these extremely hard times to get King into custody,” according to the press release.
