
Murray, Ky.–Murray State University–along with three other area colleges in Kentucky–will receive cash assistance through the most recent federal stimulus package to support students during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Universities and colleges across Kentucky are receiving a total of over $156M in emergency cash relief from the U.S. Department of Education, according to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s office.
Murray State is receiving some $6.3M, with Hopkinsville Community College receiving $1.4M, Madisonville Community College receiving a little over $1M and Western Kentucky University receiving $10.6.
According to the Department of Education, this emergency financial aid through the CARES Act can be used by students for course materials, technology, housing, food, healthcare and childcare costs.
