
Paris, Tenn.–Henry County High School administrators are pulling out the stops to honor the 2020 graduates, who have missed out on so much this year due to the COVID-19 crisis. Schools, extracurricular activities and athletics have been shut down.
HCHS has put up a new billboard on Mineral Wells Avenue which celebrates the 2020 Seniors.
Also, beginning Friday, April 10th and until graduation, the lights at Patriot Stadium will shine for 20 minutes each Friday night beginning at 20:20 (8:20 pm).
Principal Dr. Michele Webb said more senior celebrations to come soon. She said the planning for the special celebrations has been a team effort all the way.
“Cayce Matterson is the brains behind the billboard and has carried out that project wonderfully,” sie said.
Lighting up Patriot Stadium every Friday night will be a team effort with Athletic Director Mike Poteete taking the first night and different folks rotating through to help, she said.
County Director of Schools Dr. Leah Watkins said at Thursday night’s board meeting that the district is committed to holding a graduation ceremony no matter what although the date will depend on the governor’s orders.
