Stewart Countians Strongly Urged To Stay Home

Dover, Tenn.–Stewart County Mayor Robin Brandon has issued an Executive Order, effective at 12:01 a.m. April 1, 2020 and will be in effect until withdrawn.

This order is not a shelter in place mandate but instead strongly urges Stewart Countians to stay at home when at all possible for the protection of themselves and their community. The executive order includes the policies listed below, enacted immediately:

 

Residents of Stewart County are strongly advised to stay at their place of residence or maintain social distancing when outdoors, while traveling only for essential activities, essential government functions, or to operate essential businesses as defined by the Governor in Executive Order 22.

 

All county playground equipment is considered off-limits until further notice.

 

All public and private gatherings of more that ten people occurring outside a single household are prohibited, except for the limited purposes as expressly permitted by the order.

 

Essential and non-essential businesses not instructed to close are required to practice social distancing and make efforts to stop groups of 10 or more. To the greatest extent feasible, businesses shall maintain a six-foot distance for employees and customers.

 

The following businesses are closed: the dine in portion of restaurants, gyms, hair salons, nail salons, barber shops, and tanning salons. All retail stores not identified as essential and not providing curbside, pickup, or delivery services, shall close.
