Nashville, Tenn.–Governor Bill Lee announced Thursday federal assistance will be forthcoming for Benton and Carroll Counties following the widespread tornado damage in Tennessee on March 3.

Benton and Carroll Counties in West Tennessee–along with Smith County in Middle Tennessee– are included in the state’s Major Disaster Declarations, he said.

The federal assistance will help with costs associated with damage to county roads and bridges, water control facilities, buildings and equipment, utilities, etc.

“We here in Tennessee continue to focus on those victims of the tornadoes, on their families, on the relief, and the targeted efforts that we have put in place for the victims of those tornadoes, and we will continue to do so,” said Governor Lee.
