Camden, Tenn.–The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Camden Police Department in the investigation of a double homicide discovered early this morning.
Camden Police Chief George Smith said his department made the discovery when they were called to a residence in the 100 block of Vicksburg Ave. on a welfare check. He said a caller reported that one of the residents had not shown up for work this morning, which was against the norm.
Smith said officers went to the home in the 100 block of Vicksburg Ave. shortly before 8 a.m. and found the doors locked. They noticed vehicles still parked in the garage. After several attempts at knocking on windows and doors, officers made entrance through a back door and found the two bodies.
Smith said the department will not be releasing the names of the victims at this time, not will they be revealing the type of weapon used in the suspected homicides.
Two persons of interest are being questioned, he said.
