Erin, Tenn.–On Sunday March 22, 2020, the Houston County Health Department has confirmed one case of COVID-19 coronavirus in Houston County.

In a press release, officials said, “Houston County Government has been and will continue to follow federal and state directives as well as guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization. We ask that everyone use discretion and to be personally responsible to avoid any and all public gatherings. This enemy is within our county and will continue to spread if we do not stay home and make social distancing a priority.”

“Houston Countians have always gone above and beyond to pull together and help friends and neighbors through any crisis whether it is floods, downed trees from straight line winds or one of our own battling an illness or cancer. Now is the time to rally that community spirit and commit to staying home as much as possible. The best thing we can do for our families, friends, neighbors and colleagues is to stay home.”
