dyer-co-cth

By Shannon McFarlin News Director

Dyersburg, Tenn.–Dyer County Mayor Chris Young said he received two calls today from the State Department of Health–one at 8 a.m. and the other at 12:30 p.m., informing him that Dyer Co. had two cases of the Coronavirus.

He said the juvenile has been placed in isolation at home. The adult contracted the Coronavirus while out of the county and came back to Dyer County, he said. “The adult was quarantined, treated and is now clear,” Young said he was told.

Young said he was not informed by the state health officials where in Dyer Co. the individuals are located or even if they are male or female. “With the HIPPA laws, that is confidential information,” Young said. (HIPPA is the acronym for the federal medical privacy laws).

Young said all Dyer County government offices are open, but closed to the public. The public is asked to conduct its business by phone. If necessary to fill out paperwork, the paperwork can be left with the courthouse security guard.

Dyersburg city offices are also closed to the public and are conducting business at drive-through windows.
