Paris, Tenn.–Paris Special Schools District Director of Schools Dr. Norma Gerrell has announced that PSSD will be open on Monday, March 16.
Here is the statement issued: “With no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in West TN, outside of the 2 in Shelby County, at this time Paris Special School District will be open on Monday, March 16. Because the safety of our students and staff is important, we will continue using CDC approved solutions to clean and disinfect in all buildings and on our buses. Recommended social distance protocol will be used as to not have students crowded in any area. We are well stocked with supplies to maintain our handwashing routines. Your children will be well cared for, well fed, and learning will continue to take place. We are sensitive to the needs of all our families as some have parents who need to work, while others have elderly relatives or those with lowered immunity. We understand everyone’s concern and will respect decisions made by families about school attendance. We will continue to stay alert to the latest information coming from the TN Department of Health and local agencies. Decisions will be made with the most current facts as they are presented to us. We look forward to seeing our students on Monday! Dr. Norma Gerrell”
