
Dover, Tenn.–Thanks to Harry, one of the Stewart County Sheriff’s Office K9, a Kentucky man was arrested after attempting to flee from deputies.
Lenon Demetri Hopson of Oak Grove, Ky., was treated for dog bites and then booked into the Stewart County Detention Center on charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, evading arrest, reckless driving, and lack of due care.
On Tuesday night Deputy Casey Wilburn observed a vehicle traveling west on Hwy 79 towards Dover at over 100 miles per hour. The vehicle refused to stop and fled reaching speeds over 125 miles per hour. Deputy Wilburn observed what he thought was the vehicle turning onto Main Street.
The vehicle ran off the roadway and crashed near Cambridge Apartments where the driver fled on foot. Sgt. Robbie MacDonald responded and deployed K-9 Harry. Harry was able to find and detain the driver until Sgt. MacDonald and Deputy Wilburn could handcuff him.
