Paris, Tenn.–A duplex at 813 Memorial Drive in Paris was heavily damaged by fire Tuesday. One side of the duplex was destroyed, while quick action by Paris firefighters kept the fire from spreading to the other half of the duplex.
No one was injured in the blaze, but two dogs did perish.
According to the report, Fire Marshal Greg Andrews determined the fire was an unintentional electrical fire.
When firefighters arrived around 12:15 p.m., heavy smoke and fire were coming from half of the residence. The firefighters initiated an interior attack and performed a search of the other side of the duplex.
The property is worth $60,000, with damage listed at $35,000 for the property and $7,500 for contents.
Occupant was listed as Cheryl Coleman and owner of the property is Matt Spellings.
