Lady Rebels, Rebels Advance; Lazarick Hill Named District Tournament

McKenzie, Tenn.-The McKenzieLady Rebels and Rebels advanced in Region 6 tournament action with wins on Friday and Saturday night at Crisp Arena on the Bethel University campus. The Lady Rebels defeated Wayne County 63 to 44, while the Rebels beat Collinwood 82 to 45.  With the wins the Lady Rebels will play Loretta Monday night at 7:30 following the Huntingdon Fillies game with Summertown. The Rebels will play Tuesday night at 6 p.m. against cross county rival West Carroll.
Friday Night the lady rebels outscored Wayne County 18 to 11 in the first quarter lead at the half by 31-14 they end up with a final score of 63-44. Shelby Davis lead the lady rebels with 15 Lilly Bennett had 14 and Camille Camille Travis at 11.  Anna Callahan had 6 points and that many or more blocked shots.
Saturday night the Rebels defeated Collingwood 82-45 Collingwood started with a three point shot in the first quarter for the first and only lead of the night the game ended with a running clock. Lucas King had 18 points.
McKenzie Rebel Lazarick Hill was District tournament MVP and helped Rebels to advance Saturday night in Region 6 A quarter final round.
Hollow Rock Bruceton Central held on Saturday night for a victory over Perry County and will play Tuesday night following the McKenzie game with West Carroll.
WHDM 98.9 FM will air both McKenzie games Monday and Tuesday night from Wayne County High School in Waynesboro.
