The McKenzie Lady Rebels will face off in the District 11A Championship basketball game on Friday night at Crisp Arena on Bethel University campus against the Huntingdon Phillies following their win on Tuesday night against the West Carroll Ladies.  Game time is 7:30 following the consolation game between Clarksburg and West Carroll.

McKenzie outlasted West Carroll for the third time in the year winning 47 to 35.  Lilly Bennett lead all scorers with 15, but all four starters and reserve Savannah Nesbit scored in the contest.  Anna Callahan had 10, Shelby Davis 8, Dani Dyer 7, Camille Travis 5, and Nesbitt had 2.

West Carroll was led by Tatum Keymon with 11, Mia Jones had 9, Macey Cunningham tossed in 8, and Denver Brooks had 1.

Both Huntingdon and McKenzie, regardless of the outcome on Friday night, will host the first round of the region tournament on Feb. 28th.  West Carroll and Clarksburg advance as well but will have to travel to Loretto or Lawrenceburg for competition.

The semi-finals for the men will be held on Thursday night at Crisp Arena with McKenzie taking on Huntingdon in their first night of action.  Huntingdon advanced with their Saturday night win over Big Sandy.  The second game of the night at 7:30 will feature West Carroll and Bruceton.  Bruceton defeated Clarksburg on Saturday as well.  Men’s finals will be on Saturday with the losers of these two contests facing each other for 3rd and 4th in the district and the winners playing for the top two spots and the opportunity to host the first round of the region at their schools.  The Region will continue with games to be played at Wayne County High School.
