“Libraries are an important hub for our communities to learn and grow together,” said Secretary Hargett. “It is encouraging to see the excellent turnout for the Northwest Tennessee Library Legislative and Mayoral Breakfast.”

The Library Legislative and Mayoral Breakfast was held at the Obion River Regional Library Center in Martin. Attendees heard from distinguished speakers Tennessee State Library Regional Director Bessie Davis, UT Martin Chancellor Emeritus Dr. Nick Dunagan, Milan Mayor B.W. Beasley and Mildred G. “Public libraries provide vital resources within our communities for Tennesseans of all ages,” said Tennessee State Library Regional Director Bessie Davis. “I urge our state representatives, mayors and local officials to advocate and vote their financial support of community public libraries.”
