Murray, Ky.–The Calloway County Library Board voted unanimously at Tuesday night’s meeting to accept the Library Feasibility Study for a new children’s area and renovation of the existing building prepared by 5253 Design Group.
According to a press release issued by 4th District Magistrate Paul Rister, the board also passed a motion to begin the Design and Construction Phase to request bids for construction. Bid opening is scheduled for September 1 this year.
Rister said the renovation and addition increases the existing building’s 12,047 sq. ft to 28,870. The projected cost is $6.8 mil., of which their building fund balance is at $3.9 mil. with another $1.3 mil. in a money market account.
If the vote is to move forward, the projected completion date would be March 2022.
