Columbia Man Dies After Fall From Car In Weakley County

police-accident-2

Martin, Tenn.–A Columbia, Tenn. man died of injuries suffered when he fell out of a car during an argument near Martin Sunday.

According to Weakley County Sheriff’s Captain Randall McGowan, deputies were dispatched to Hwy. 22 near the Walmart exit near Martin at 4:47 a.m. Sunday.

When deputies arrived, they found 44-year-old Chad Brent Plunk of Columbia with severe injuries to his head and other parts of his body.

McGowan said it was determined that Plunk and his wife were driving west on Hwy. 22 and during an argument, Plunk had opened a car door and fallen out of the vehicle.

Plunk died as he was being transported by air ambulance to The Med in Memphis. McGowan said it is believed that alcohol played a part in the incident.
