Paris, Tenn.–Paris Police issued a warrant for a local man after an accident in front of a downtown restaurant on Monday.
A warrant has been issued for Ryan Thompson on charges of leaving the scene of an accident, simple possession of Schedule VI drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a revoked license.
Patrolman Johnathan Baxter responded to the call of an accident in front of the Take Me Back Cafe on West Wood St. On arrival, he learned that the drive had moved his vehicle and began walking away from the scene.
The vehicle had been left open with the driver’s door open and Officer Baxter could detect the odor of marijuana. A hand rolled cigarette filled with a green, leafy substance that appeared to be marijuana could be seen.
Due to the vehicle being abandoned and the marijuana in plain sight, Officer Baxter proceeded to search the vehicle. In the center console of the car he found a black sock that contained a white meth pipe with residue left inside.
