
Paris, Tenn.–The victim in Thursday morning’s fatality in Henry County has been officially identified.
Henry County Medical Examiner Danny Tucker said his office received positive identification Sunday night from Nashville Forensics. The victim is Cynthia Diane Hargrove, age 45, of Paris.
As reported Friday, the Tennessee Highway Patrol issued a preliminary report on the accident, pending the Medical Examiner’s report.
The accident occurred around 5:45 a.m. Friday on Fairgrounds Rd.
According to Lt. Brad Wilbanks, the driver of a 2016 Nissan Versa was northbound on Fairgrounds Rd., negotiating a curve to the left. The vehicle traveled off the right edge of the roadway, possibly over-correcting and striking a tree head-on. After exiting the roadway and striking the tree, the vehicle became engulfed in flames.
According to the report, the driver was wearing a seatbelt.
