
Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Historical Society will host its annual Show and Tell Night at the Paris-Henry County Heritage Center, 614 N. Poplar St. in Paris, Tennessee, beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 6th. The public is encouraged to attend and bring local items to tell their stories or seek additional information about them.
The 200-artifact Curtis Jackson Collection, recently obtained by the historical society, will be on display. Items included are from local pharmacists, The Paris Medicine Co., J&T Laboratories, Peoples Coal & Ice Co., Ellis Heating Co., Tennessee Absorbent Clay Co., Farmers Bank of Puryear, Paris Dairy, Tyson and Co., Golden Peacock, National Toilet Co., soft drink bottling companies, The Pioneer House, Paris Landing State Park, Bingo Bait Co., Paris Livestock Co., Dudley Porter, Jr., and local business ephemera, such as matchbook covers.
Pipestone Restorations of Waverly, Tennessee, will report on the repair and restoration effort of the 1927 American LaFrance fire engine originally owned by the City of Paris from 1928-1964. The Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue in Oregon donated the apparatus last year, and the society continues to accept donations toward the fire engine project.
