Cottage Grove, Tenn.–The new helicopter has arrived for the second Air Evac base at Henry County Airport and Air Evac personnel are looking forward to the expanded regional presence at the new base.

In August, the Henry County Commissioners approved a 10-year lease for the former Skykits hangar at the Airport.

Air Evac Program Director Mark Pierce said two full crews with two helicopters will be located at the airport. Until work is completed at the new base, the crews will be working out of both the current base there and the new base, but they will both be located in the former Skyfits hangar shortly.

The new helicopter is an EC 135 IFR and it arrived late last week.

The former Skyfits hangar is a 21,600 square foot building. The lease agreement is for $42,000 per year.

Both Air Evac and Vanderbilt LifeFlight have headquarters at the airport.
