Nashville, Tenn.-Twelve Henry County High School swimmers competed in the MTHSSA Regionals on Friday in Nashville. There were over 800 swimmers from the Region competing throughout the day. Junior Emma Hill became the first Henry County swimmer to ever score at the Region meet. She placed 11th in the 50 free out of 133 and 13th place in the 100 back out of 72 swimmers. Junior Hunter Lawrence also did well placing 26th and 29th in the 200 individual medley and 100 free. Sophomore Caleb Cain got another State qualifying time in his 100 butterfly. The girls 400 freestyle relay also scored in the meet with their 15th place finish. This relay consisted of swimmers Hill, Shelby Summers, Sara Mathis and Amelia Hart. The team will now focus on the State Meet which will be held February 7-8 in Knoxville at the Allen Jones Aquatic Center. The swimmers that have qualified are Hill, Lawrence and Cain along with a men’s relay which will also include Hunter Miller and Will Wardlaw.
