By Shannon McFarlin News Director

Paris, Tenn.–In an update from our earlier report, Paris Firefighters have said the residence on Whitlock-Paris Rd. is a total loss after a mid-morning fire.
Firefighters were called to 795 Whitlock-Paris Rd. around 10:30 a.m. to find the double-wide home engulfed in flames and smoke.

The home is a total loss, with the value of the property lost at $29,000 and contents lost at $10,000.

The Paris Fire Department called for aid from the Puryear Fire Department, which shuttled water to the scene three times. Firefighters remained on the scene until 1:30 p.m.

The property is owned by Darrell Bingham. The Bingham’s were not in the home when the fire started, but were at the nearby shop. No one was injured in the fire.

The fire is one of two house fires in Henry County Monday. The other fire occurred overnight at 7440 Whitlock Rd. and is believed a man may have died in the fire. As of Monday evening, investigators still had not found the victim in the rubble.

WENK/WTPR will report more information as it is available.
