Paris, Tenn.–A garage and its contents were destroyed in an early morning fire on Old Union Rd. in Henry County.

Oakland Fire Department Chief James Martin said the department was called to 1381 Old Union Rd. at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, December 4, and upon arrival, found the building fully involved.

Martin told WENK/WTPR, “Due to the proximity of the shed to the house, I requested Springville Fire Department for mutual aid. The fire was quickly contained.”

The building was a total loss and the cause of the fire is undetermined. The building was not attached to the house.

The property owner is James Osbron, with the Warbritton family residing there. Samantha Warbritton said they lost quite a few things in the fire, “but they can be replaced”.

Oakland dispatched three trucks and seven firefighters. Springville Volunteer Fire Department sent two trucks and seven firefighters.
