Huntingdon Public Safety Offers Free Ice Scrapers To Public

Huntingdon, Tenn.–The Huntingdon Department of Public Safety now has windshield ice scrapers free to the public.
As part of its effort to raise awareness of safe driving the department is now giving away free ice and frost scrapers. Director of Public Safety Walter Smothers said, “January and February are typically the worst months for our area to have cold frosty mornings and with that comes those frosted windows on our vehicles. We want to help residents stay safe by providing them with these scrapers so that they can clean their vehicle windows on those mornings and operate in a safer manner.”
Imprinted on the handle of the scrapers are two safety slogans: “Hands Free Tennessee” and “Don’t Trust Luck-Buckle Up!”.
Smothers said, “These are safety slogans that represent two very important laws in our state that, if followed, will save countless lives.”
These scrapers are available as long as the supply lasts, and can be picked up at the drive thru window at Huntingdon City Hall at 19810 East Main Street  or by coming inside the Huntingdon Public Safety Building at 12740 Lexington Street.
