Dover, TN – The Stewart County Visitor Center, location for visitor orientation and ranger services of Fort Donelson National Battlefield, and the historic Dover Hotel/”Surrender House” will be closed for the Christmas Day (Wednesday, December 25), and New Year’s Day (Wednesday, January 1, 2020) holidays.
Although Visitor Center and Dover Hotel/”Surrender House” will be closed, the grounds and trails of the Fort Donelson lands will be open to pedestrian visitation from sunrise to sunset. Park roads will be open to traffic from 8:00 am to 4:30pm. Pedestrian access to the lands of the national battlefield’s Fort Heiman Unit, located in Calloway County, Kentucky, are accessible from sunrise to sunset.
