McKenzie, Tenn.–Witt Mitchum, senior standout at McKenzie High School signed his commitment to a football scholarship to Kansas State University during a ceremony Wednesday in the library at the high school.
Mitchum had offers from Coastal Carolina, Connecticut, Georgia Southern, Kansas, Liberty, Middle Tennessee State and Rice.
Mitchum is an offensive tackle and with his signing, Kansas State landed another piece to its 2020 recruiting class.
The offer from Kansas State came just last Monday and Mitchum quickly made it to Manhattan for his official visit.
The commitment is considered a massive get for Kansas State and offensive line coach Conor Riley.
Mitchum is the son of Sherry Mitchum, San Antonio; brothers Brooks Mitchum, San Antonio; and Luke Mitchum, McKenzie; and grandparent D.K. Mitchum of McKenzie.
His coach at McKenzie is Wade Comer.
