Union City, Tenn.–Fifth-graders at Union City Middle School mixed learning with fun on a recent field trip to Discovery Park of America.
Accompanied by their teachers, the entire class spent a couple of hours at DPA before the recent Thanksgiving holiday break.
Students divided their time between exploring many of the park’s attractions while also participating in multiple scavenger hunts.
Two groups did a scavenger hunt in the gift shop, where they used their math skills to add, subtract and multiply decimals.
Other groups did scavenger hunts in several areas of the park, including the transportation gallery, the WWI/WWII gallery and/or the Native American gallery.
