Union City, Tenn.–This year’s telethon for Chimes for Charity was a success, but there is still a way to go for organizers to reach their goal.
The last night of the two-night telethon was especially successful, raising some $10,000, but with the this year’s goal of $50,000, there still is $27,000 to be raised.
Chimes for Charity is in its 85th year and collects monetary and other donations that allow it to deliver food, clothing and toys to needy Obion Co. families.
The telethon was held at First Baptist Church in Union City and broadcast on WENK both nights.
Hosts for the event are Steve Conley, former Jaycee President and Chimes Chair; and Catherine Nailing, former J’Cette President and Chimes Chair. Entertainment was provided by several organizations during the telethon.
Chimes for Charity is still seeking donations toward its goal for this year.
