Duck Hunters In Sinking Boat Rescued

Benton County, Tenn.–Four duck hunters in a sinking boat were rescued on the Tennessee River Saturday afternoon by the Benton County Rescue Squad.
The Rescue Squad was dispatched to the Tennessee River at the Birdsong Creek entrance at 4:35 pm Saturday afternoon to assist duck hunters.
According to a press release, squad crews arrived on scene with two rescue boats to find four duck hunters with a partially submerged boat. The boat had become disabled after it took on too much water, but fortunately for the hunters, they were in shallow water near their duck blind and were able to safely wait until rescue crews arrived.
The hunters were safely transported, and the hunting boat was towed back to Camden Landing in Benton County by BCRS crews. Two of the hunters are from Humphreys County, one from Perry County, and one from Weakley County.
There were no injuries to any of the hunters.
