Sharon, Tenn.–The Weakley County Sheriff’s Office has charged a 12-year-old male with assault charges after the youth was determined to have made statements about killing students at the school at Sharon.
Investigator Randall McGowan said the youth was charged Wednesday in Weakley County Juvenile Court “after it was disclosed by more than one person to Sheriff’s investigators that the 12-year-old had made statements about killing students” at the school, which he attends.
The Weakley County School Board has been made aware of this and the youth’s parents have been told the child is not to return to school at this time. The Sharon Police Department is assisting the Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.
