Austin Dabbs, an award-winning and accomplished special Olympian, was recognized recently and received a Life Saving Award from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office for saving the life of his mother, April Witherspoon.
“On Sept. 3, Witherspoon became distressed with a medical emergency,” according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. “Austin rushed to make the right calls and get his mom the medical attention she needed. Thanks to Austin, she is still here with us today!”
The sheriff’s office added, “Hats off to you, Austin, for a job well done!”
