Union City Police Sgt. Tack Simmons Retires After 42 Years of Service

Union City Police Sgt. Tack Simmons retired last week after 42 years of service, according to a Facebook post by the Union City Police Department.
“We would like (to) express our thanks to Sgt. Tack Simmons for his 42 years of dedicated service,” the department said in the post. “Sgt. Simmons has made an impact on the city as well as the officers he has worked with. Sgt. Simmons wanted to leave this department knowing that those that followed under his supervision were ready for any task they would face. Over the years he has done just that. Thank you Tack for all you have done. You have earned your well deserved time off.”
Simmons’ retirement party was on Nov. 8 and the department has posted a photo gallery of the event on its Facebook page.
