Students are given a card to have teachers sign on as they check in with different teachers throughout the day, with teachers giving feedback on his behavior in specific areas. The facilitator meets with the student first thing in the morning and the student receives motivational talk from the facilitator and anything that needs to be worked on. Students receive a feather, the Harrelson Hawk monetary equivalent, just for coming to check in with the facilitator each day.
Students also have mentors helping with relationship building, discussing common interests, timely discussions when they struggle, and celebrate successes the student has as well.
Harrelson Student Joseph Baker, who is currently in the check-in, check-out Tier 2 program, talked about his regular day and showed pictures on the power point. He told board members of the different parts of his day and how each member of the team talks with him and makes sure he is doing well for the day. Joseph said that his attitude has been better and this program has helped him.

Maintenance Supervisor John Akers updated the board on facilities, reporting the spring sports building is closed out and finished and came in $33,000 under budget. That money has been moved to the fieldhouse area. The fire panel is the last major install needed there as the area is considered a classroom.
Akers said the band building is progressing and they hope to get the heat on next week. The ceiling grid is in and they can drop that in in the next couple weeks.
The front entrance is nearing completion as well as the carpet has been laid in certain areas. The exterior doors are in all the way around the school including where the shops can have a door and not have to use the roll up doors to gain entry.
