Paris, Tenn.- The Henry County High School Military Club will hold its annual salute to Veterans on Veterans Day Monday, at 11 a.m. November 11th at Gamlin Gymnasium at the high school.
Veterans are invited and asked to arrive at least 30 minutes early to allow students to complete each Veteran’s biography and seat them.
The Madrigals will open the event by signing the National Anthem, A service hymn melody, and “Thank You Soldiers” will be performed by the Patriot band. The US Colors will presented by members of the TN Army National Guard.
Guest speaker is Captain Marty Weed, U.S. Marine Corps. Captain Weed is the Director of the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads. He deployed to Operation Desert Shield, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Kenya for the African crisis response initiative.
The Military and Criminal Justice Clubs will host a reception after the program, which should end around 11:40. Veterans may also enjoy a free lunch with students if they choose to stay for lunch on Monday.
Because of the ongoing construction, Veterans and attendees’ need to use the C2 marked entrance on the south side of the gym near the auto shop. Handicapped access is available near the main office in E building as well. For questions call 642-5232.
