Paris, Tenn.–The Paris-Henry County Industrial Committee has hired Rob Goad to be the Executive Director effective December 1st.  A graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, Goad has spent the majority of his career in marketing, project management and grant writing.
Henry County Mayor Brent Greer said, “I have worked with Rob for over 14 years in his position with the Northwest Tennessee Development District. I am extremely excited about the skill set that Rob brings to our community in his depth of knowledge in grant writing, workforce skills development and site development expertise.”

In 2004, Rob began working with the Development District as a Rural Planning Organization coordinator where he served as a spokesman for the Northwest Tennessee region’s transportation needs.  It was during this time he began working with rural communities to secure grant funding to improve public infrastructure and spur economic development.
In 2005, Rob began research and grant writing full time for the Northwest Tennessee region.  Over the last 12 years, Goad has secured state and federal funding for all 9 counties, more than 40 municipalities, and numerous non-profit organizations.
Paris Mayor and Committee Chairman Carlton Gerrell said, “Rob is a great fit to Paris and Henry County as we seek to address workforce skills, housing, business retention/expansion and our new industrial park.”
“Rob’s experience in economic development projects from all across West Tennessee will be a huge boost to our efforts here in Paris and Henry County,” Terry Wimberley, General Manager of the Board of Public Utilities added.
Goad is a 2016 graduate of the Weakley County Leadership program, a 2017 graduate of the WestStar Leadership Program, and a 2018 graduate of the Delta Leadership Institute Program.  Rob currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Carl Perkins Child Abuse Prevention Center and the Martin Housing Authority.
He and Delinda, his wife of 11 years, currently reside in Martin, but will be relocating to Henry County.
