By Kristina Dufresne
Paris, Tenn.–Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of animal abuse at Rabbit Creek Rd.
According to the report, a property there was foreclosed on and when the resident left, she abandoned three black Labradors. The officer observed the dogs were very thin and emaciated due to starvation.
The suspect is  Amanda Weatherford, age 30, of Buchanan, and her whereabouts are unknown at this time. The dogs were taken to the Henry County Animal Shelter and the case is under investigation with charges pending.
In an unrelated report, deputies also responded to a call of an abandoned vehicle that was left in the driveway of a residence on County Home Road. The owner doesn’t where the truck came from.
Deputies ran the license plate and discovered it was registered to a different vehicle. The vehicle was searched for inventory purposes and numerous drug paraphernalia items were found, including syringes, spoons, baggies, and a blue container with methamphetamine  in it.
