Paris, Tenn. – Henry County Schools has made its leap into the Farm to School Program thanks to a partnership with Future Visions Farm of Whitlock.
Henry County students have been served fresh acorn and butternut squash thanks to the local purchase with Tyler Smith of Future Visions. Smith is a Henry County High School graduate and finds satisfaction being able to feed Henry County students.
According to Grove cafeteria manager Donna Varneke, “A lot of our students had not had the opportunity to try these squash. We did get some mixed reviews from students but we’re excited about introducing fresh, new and nutritious foods to our students.”
