Collision Claims Life Of Mayfield Woman

Mayfield, Ky.–A two-vehicle collision Wednesday night claimed the life of an 81-year-old Mayfield woman in Graves County.
Nancy E. Riley was first transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center by the Mayfield-Graves County EMS, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
At approximately 8:25 p.m., Kentucky State Police received a call of a two vehicle collision with injuries in Graves County at the intersection of KY 80 E and KY 1124. Multiple KSP units responded to the scene.
Preliminary investigation shows Matthew R. Rowland, age 27, of Mayfield, westbound on KY 80 E operating a 2011 Ford Fusion. At the same time, Ms. Riley was operating a 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis and failed to yield at the intersection as she attempted to cross KY 80 from north to south and pulled into the path of Rowland.
KSP collision analysts were notified and responded to the scene.
KSP Reconstructionist Master Trooper Mike Ray and Sergeant Eric Fields are continuing the investigation. KSP was assisted at the scene by Graves County Sheriff’s Office, Mayfield-Graves County EMS, Graves County Fire & Rescue, Farmington Volunteer Fire Department, and the Graves County Coroner.
