Union City Pedestrian Killed When Hit By Car

Dresden, Tenn.–A man from Union City was killed Monday night as he walked along  a highway in Weakley County.
Armando Marquez, age 47, was killed as he walked along State Route 431 when struck by Malik Stockdale, age 22, also of Union City.
According to Lt. Brad Wilbanks of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Stockdale was driving eastbound on Route 431 when he struck Marquez with the front end of his vehicle in the roadway.  Stockdale came to a controlled stop at the next intersection on the right side of the roadway facing in a southern direction.
Wilbanks said Stockdale was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol and he was not injured. No charges have been filed.
