Fancy Farm, Ky.–Graves County Sheriff’s deputies transported a Mayfield man who had barricaded himself inside a residence with a knife for hospitalization and treatment. While assisting deputies, the Kentucky State Police arrested two Graves County residents on drug and weapons charges and warrants.
The incident began at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Monday, October 28th, when the Graves County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a subject walking near the 7000 block of State Route 80 West in the Fancy Farm community, who appeared to be intoxicated. Deputies arrived and located a male armed with a knife.
Trooper Jay Dunn was called to assist after the male had barricaded himself inside a residence. Law enforcement was able to make contact with the male, identified as Jeremy P. Kendrick, age 29, of Mayfield, after he exited the residence. Kendrick received medical attention on scene and was transported by ambulance to Jackson Purchase Medical Center where he was admitted for further treatment.
While securing the residence, Trooper Dunn observed items of drug paraphernalia in plain view consistent with the trafficking of illegal narcotics. Trooper Dunn made contact with the homeowner, 25 year-old Corey R. McCoy who granted consent to search the property. During the search, law enforcement located multiple baggies of methamphetamine on McCoy’s person, marijuana and digital scales inside the residence indicative of trafficking, and a handgun hidden in a hay bail on the property.
McCoy was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance, possession and trafficking of meth, trafficking in marijuana, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
After transporting McCoy to the Graves County Detention Center where he was lodged, Trooper Dunn returned to the residence to find Mary L. Harding, age 23, of Wingo, sitting in a vehicle on the property. Harding had multiple warrants for her arrest and was taken into custody by Trooper Dunn. She was lodged in the Graves County Detention Center.
