Governor Lee Visits Carroll Academy

Huntingdon, Tenn.—Carroll Academy in Huntingdon hosted a visit from Governor Bill Lee Tuesday morning and staff shared experiences that the students and their families have had that have positively affected their lives. Students presented the governor with welcome cards and signs.
County and state officials and area educators were on hand to greet Governor Lee and encourage him to continue the state’s commitment to the Academy.
Carroll County Mayor Joseph Butler said, “We are working to increase funding and provide stability to Carroll Academy. We don’t just want this program to survive; we want to advance its mission.”
State Sen. John Stevens, (R-Huntingdon) said he’ll be working to fund the Academy for long-term stability the next budget year. “Carroll Academy should be a model for rural areas of the state, providing a stable educational environment for students who need skills and services traditional government schools cannot provide.”
