Paris, Tenn.–Farmers Home Furniture will be opening its new store in Paris on Tuesday, November 5.
Manager Norman Varnum told WENK/WTPR the opening will be a soft one, with a grand opening to be held shortly.
The store is located in the former Fred’s Discount Store building at the corner of Jim Adams Drive and Volunteer Drive. Varnum will be familiar to many as he was a manager at the Fred’s store for some time.
Farmers Home had announced it was hiring store staff in August and employees have been hard at work stocking and arranging the furnishings inside the store. Exterior signs were installed over the weekend.
Georgia-based Farmers Home Furniture was founded in 1949 and now operates 200 locations in the Southeast. The store sells a wide selection of furniture, including living room, bedroom, dining room, kitchen and laundry. It also sells other items, such as computers, TVs and cameras.
