Paris, Tenn.- The Henry County Sheriff’s Office will host Jakes Day for youth hunters from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday October 26th . Deer Check-in begins at 8am, events and games start at 10 am, and all action will be at the Holly Fork Shooting Complex.
There is a Big Buck and Big Doe contest. 1st place pays $150, 2nd $100 and 3rd $50. The Biggest Buck will be mounted for free by Head & Shoulders Taxidermy. Smallest deer prize is $50. Two guns will be given away at the event.
Fun events to take part include: archery, still target, turkey calling contest, duck flush, 22 rifle balloon shoot for prizes. Trophies will be awarded in each category at 1pm.
There will be K9 demos by the sheriff’s office, free framed picture of deer for all juvenile hunters, over $2,000 worth of door prizes to be given away, free t-shirts, and free lunch. For more information call Sheriff Monte Belew at 336-4699.
