Milan, Tenn.–After 23 years, an arrest has been made in the disappearance of a 14-year-old Milan girl. Finnis “Pete” Hill, age 67, is being held without bond after his indictment by a special-called Gibson County Grand Jury.
He is being held on one count of premeditated first-degree murder, one count of first-degree murder in perpetration of felony rape, one count of aggravated rape resulting in bodily injury and one count of aggravated rape by the use of a deadly weapon in the abduction and murder in 1996 of Cayce Lynn McDaniel.
Hill is charged with one count of premeditated first-degree murder, one count of first-degree murder in perpetration of felony rape, one count of aggravated rape resulting in bodily injury and one count of aggravated rape by the use of a deadly weapon.
According to a press release from District Attorney Garry Brown, Hill is currently in federal custory on unrelated charges of coercion of a minor and attempting to engage in sexual contact with a minor.
In July of 2018, Milan Police Chief Bobby Sellers confirmed Hill was a suspect in the McDaniel cold case.
“District Attorney General Garry Brown would like to acknowledge and thank law enforcement for their relentless efforts in the pursuit of justice for Cayce Lynn, her family and the citizens of the State of Tennessee,” Brown said in the release.
Hill will be arraigned in Gibson County Circuit Court in Trenton.
