Knoxville, Tenn.–Greenfield High School standout Tess Darby has committed to Tennessee.
A 6-1 shooting guard, Darby is the first high school recruit to commit to Kellie Harper, the new head coach of the Lady Vols.
According to the GoVols247, Darby visited Knoxville on Oct. 10-12 with her family and made a verbal commitment to Harper and her staff on Oct. 12, which also was her father’s birthday. “She made the commitment public Oct. 18,” according to GoVols. “The Darby family are longtime Tennessee fans, and after Harper offered Darby last month, the Lady Vols needed to seal the deal during the visit.”
Darby’s Greenfield High School Lady Yellow Jackets won a state championship in 2018.
Darby tweeted an announcement of her own Friday saying she was ‘blessed and humbled’ to be recruited by so many top schools but that she was ‘thrilled’ to announce her commitment to the Lady Vols.
