The Friends of Land Between the Lakes invite you to spend the Columbus Day holiday weekend at the Woodlands Nature Station for the Kids Woolly Bear Weekend, 10 am – 5 pm, October 12-13, 2019, inside Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, 3146 Silver Trail Road, Cadiz, Kentucky, 42211. Admission is $5 for ages 13 and up, $3 for ages 5 – 12 and free for ages 4 and under.
Packed with kid-friendly activities, this weekend will celebrate the woolly bear worm, a common symbol and traditional sign of autumn and the changing season. Let’s use it as our mascot to celebrate other fall traditions.

Saturday, October 12
Throughout the Day – Meet Smokey Bear
10 am – 4 pm – Make Your Own Woolly Bear
10 am – 4:30 pm – Signs of the Season Scavenger Hunt
11 am – 12 pm – Nature’s Bounty: Fall Wild Edibles Series
1 – 1:30 pm – The Woolly Bear 500
2 – 2:30 pm – Squawking Squirrel Storytelling
3:30 – 4 pm – The Grumpy Ol’ Groundhog
6:30 – 8 pm – Wolf Prowl Night Hike – $3 a person, not included in daytime admission. Call 270.924.2020 to register.
