Reception Ushers In Paschall Pottery Display

Paris, Tenn.- The Paris Henry County Heritage Center hosted a reception local artist Martin Paschall on Friday evening to usher in a display of his pottery pieces at the center.
Paschall has been making pottery for 55 years and uses an array of ingredients and methods, including bubble glazing, which uses water, dish detergent, and a straw for design.
Another method he uses is chattering, done with a hacksaw blade. Paschall uses metallic based colorants such as copper, cobalt, iron, and magnesium, for glazing.
Paschall teaches classes at Lee Academy for the Arts and adult fall classes have begun with a pottery wheel throwing class. It is a six- week course on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 6 to 8:30 pm. Call Lee Academy for more details if you’d like to join a class.
