According to the Tennessee Valley Authority, our area just wrapped up the third driest September on record – dating back to 1890. Only 0.58 inches of rain was recorded in the Tennessee Valley for the month. Normal average rainfall for September is over 3.5 inches. Despite the dry conditions, the TVA still has tributary water in storage, about 104% of normal, and TVA continues to meet minimum flow requirements for water quality and supply.
