Toddler In Stable Condition After Shooting

Graves County, Ky.– A Graves County two-year-old is in stable condition after being shot in the abdomen.

According to the KSP the Mayfield Post received a 911 call Tuesday evening from 3222 Highway 94 in Sedalia in reference to a two year old who sustained a through and through gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Troopers responded along with Mayfield EMS.  The child was transported to Vanderbilt Children’s hospital via Air Evac.

Father Zakary Page, age 25, told investigators the child was in a room that contained a loaded firearm.  Page also said the child was unsupervised and that the firearm was discharged by unknown means.

According to the KSP, the investigation is in the preliminary stages and is ongoing at this time.  The child sustained non life-threatening injuries.  The child is in stable condition and expected to be released.

Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by Sedalia Fire, Cuba Fire and Mayfield EMS. The investigation is continuing by Sarah Burgess. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police Post 1 at 270-856-3721 or anonymously at 1-800-222-5555.
